The tournament features the top women's cricket players from all over the world, and they compete in various franchises representing different Indian cities. The Women's IPL will have five teams viz Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants. The Women's IPL will also help in bridging the gap between men's and women's cricket and will be given equal opportunities to women cricketers to prove their mettle. The tournament will help in promoting gender equality and will inspire young girls to take up cricket as a career. These exposures will help them gain invaluable experience and improve their skills, which is essential for the development of Indian women's cricket. However, despite the significant strides made towards promoting women's cricket in India, there is still a long way to go. The Women's IPL is currently a five-team tournament and needs to be expanded to include more teams and players.
