1. Hawa Mahal
Built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is the most iconic landmark of Jaipur. Built as a ahigh screen for the women of the royal household, Hawa Mahal is made from the red and pink sandstone and stands right at the edge of the City Palace and extends to the women's chambers or zenana. It has been designed to look alike the crown of Krishna and this 5 storey high building resembles a honeycomb. With 953 intricately latticework jharokhas or small windows, Hawa Mahal served as the perfect cover for Rajput women to watch everyday happening and processions on the street.

2. City Palace
Construction on the City Palace was completed in 1732 and it served as the seat of power for the Maharaja of Jaipur. Even to present day, some portion of this palace is out of bounds of general public becuase it continues to serve as the home to erstwhile royal family of Jaipur. The complex is home to Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal and its various iconic gates including Udai Pol, Tripolia Gate and Virendra Pol, which represents the blend of Mughal and European architecture.

3. Jantar Mantar
Janatar Mantar of Jaipur is one of the five observatories constructed by Jai Singh II, which includes Jantar Mantars at Delhi ,Ujjain and Varanasi. Amond many instruments present here is he world's largest Sun Dial. Situated adjacent to City Palace and Hawa Mahal, features instrument made up of stone & brass. In all there are 19 instruments that help observe astronomical positions with the naked eyes. It has instruments that operates in each of the three main classical celestial co-ordinate system: the ecliptic system, the horizon-zenith local system and equitorial system.

4. Jal Mahal
Located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake is the spectacular monument of Jal Mahal. The palace was constructed in 1745 seems to float in water of the lake. Modeled on the inspiration from the Lake Palace of Udaipur, Jal Mahal is situated on the outskirts of Jaipur amidst the route to Amer Mahal. It is actually a 5 storied building out of which 4 remains submerged when the lake is full.

5. Jaigarh Fort
Jaigarh Fort is the third imposing fort that overlooks the city. It is the patr of the three fort defence ring that protected Jaipur. The name Jaigarh feels apt because it is the fort which has never been conquered. It is situated on Cheel Ka Teela (or Eagle's Hill) of Aravalli Range and stands amidst thorn-scrub covered hills with a steep road rising up to the main gate, Dungar Darwaza.

6. Nahargarh Fort
Nahargarh fort is one the three major forts on the outskirts of the city. Originally named as Sudarshangarh, the fort was renamed to Nahargarh or the abode of tigers. It was constructed in 1734 by Sawai Jai Singh II , Nahargarh served as a place of retreat on the summit of the ridge above the city. It's fortifying walls connects it to Jaigarh. Madhvavendra Bhavan, which served as a zenana for the royal women with dozens of identical suites , is one of the most beautiful building of the fort.

7. Amer Fort
Amber fort stands on the outskirts of Jaipur, some 13 kms from the city center. As with almost all other structures in the area of its era, it brings together the Hindu & Mughal style of architecture.
